His wife, Amalia Christina Hallberg was born June 18, 1849 in Sandby, Malmöhus, Sweden. Nils was tailor by profession in Sweden and continued this profession in the United States. Nils and Amalia had five known children:

Elina Christoffersson, born January 11, 1883 in Grand Rapids, Kent County, Michigan
Nils Christoffersson emigrated to the United States on April 21, 1881, arriving
in New York City on the steamship Adriatic May 28, 1991. He traveled to Grand Rapids,
Michigan. Later that year on August 21, 1881, his wife and four children left Sweden
and joined him in Grand Rapids. On March 24, 1884 Nils' wife Amalia Christina died
in Grand Rapids. She was buried in the Fulton Street Cemetery.
On June 2,
1884, Nils Christoffersson married Augusta Anderson, born January 1859 in Sweden.
She had a daughter, Mary Alma, born abt. 1877 in Sweden.

Florence Christoffersson, born November 1897 in Kentucky
By 1889 and 1890 Nils Christoffersson was living at 146 Clinton Street in Grand
Rapids, working as a tailor with his eldest son, Fred. By 1900, we find Nils Christoffersson
with wife Augusta, and children George, Arthur and Florence living in Toldeo, Lucas
County, Ohio at 566 Dorr Street, still working as a tailor.
By the end of 1905
it seems that Nils Christoffersson was dead, exact date and place of death unknown.
What happened to his children from both marriages is not known, nor what happened
to his second wife, Augusta.
By the 1930s a relative of this family, possibly
a granddaughter, was corresponding with my family. Her name was Loretta ________,
and she was living in Independence, Missouri. I would like to make contact with any
descendants of this family. I descend from a younger brother to Nils Christoffersson.
Spelling of the name Christoffersson may have been changed to Christopherson.
